Teddy Bears

Wouldn't it be strange if I woke up in the arms of a boy?
Wouldn't it be strange if I woke up not feeling so cold?
Wouldn't it be strange if my stuffed animals were real live animals!
They'd tell me to get up, get up and talk to other people
And tell them what I think, tell them what I think about them
They need to know the truth, they need to know the truth anyway!

Wouldn't it be strange if I looked up instead of down when I walked?
Wouldn't it be strange if I didn't hide from all the people I meet?
Wouldn't it be strange if my stuffed animals were real live animals!
They'd tell me to get up, get up and talk to other people
And tell them what I think, tell them what I think about them
They need to know the truth, they need to know the truth anyway!

And red bear said there's no secrets between friends
And the brown bear said you look lovely tonight
And the blue bear said don't be afraid of the dark
And the bear on the edge said why am I sitting here on the edge?
And I said hey I'm on the edge, yeah I'm on the edge too!

Wouldn't it be strange if I didn't sing about teddy bears?
And wouldn't it be strange if I preferred boys over toys?
Wouldn't it be strange if my stuffed animals were just stuffed animals?
We'd play, we'd play with them all day!
We wouldn't care about the thoughts of other people, or the words of other people
They really wouldn't matter
Cause they don't know the truth, no they don't know the truth anyway!

And the red bear said put your faith in God instead
And the blue bear said God is dead is what Nietzsche said
And the brown bear said well its free will that keeps us alive
And then the edge bear said we've been determined since the first atom arrived
And as we argued and argued on, I said we shouldn't argue anymore
And I screamed and I screamed until I realized that my voice had been ignored
So I decided to ask, yes I decided to ask
Do I look lovely tonight? Do I look lovely tonight?
And they said no no no.. oh no.. oh no.. oh no
